What I know TODAY about making wine…
Posted by danleone on August 10th, 2009 filed in my father, wine1. There is a fine line between grapes rotting and wine.
2. There is a fine line between the science of wine-making and the art of wine-making.
3. There is a fine line between assisting someone with making wine and truly understanding the wine-making process.
4. There is a fine line between traditions of the past and the path to the future.
5. For 35 years, my father danced this dance, while I usually helped.
6. This year, I will try to continue the tradition.

I don’t like wine, but I like that you’re going to carry on the tradition. Who knows, maybe I’d like your wine.

If I know anything about you at all, I know you’re going to work at this until you understand the process as well as your father did. I’m looking forward to following your progress on your wine-making journey.

Great tradition, Dan. I’m just catching up after too long away…and so pleased to find you’re embracing these traditions, that have already become such a part of who you are.
And I love wine…to drink, of course. I wouldn’t know the first thing about making it, I would so wreck a good thing…so can’t wait to read more about your journey.
