Imponderable #96
Posted by danleone on May 18th, 2008 filed in imponderable, uncategorizedDo they REALLY make “cans of worms?”
I can only assume that these would be used for fishing but how long do worms live in a can? So, if I fished, and I walked into my local Fishing-R-Us, could I buy a can of worms? Are there different price ranges for different quality of worm? What makes one type of worm better than another?

Maybe they used to come in cans. Around here they come in little styrofoam containers and can live for several days if they are kept in a cool place . Nightcrawlers are more expensive than regular worms. You can also get ones that glow in the dark and they are even more expensive. And no matter what kind you get, if you open up the can (container) they’ll all crawl out and try escape their fate of being speared with a barbed hook. Gosh, I’m glad I’m not a worm.
P.S. Were those rhetorical questions?

That was the most amazing answer ever, Terri! Thanks. Though, I was mostly being rhetorical, it is good to hear that there is a very reasonable explanation for this.
Sadly, I have never killed a fish for sport before.

Terri stole all the good information. Now I’ll just look like I’m copying her, but I knew all of that! And you don’t even have to go to Fishing ‘R Us…our Walmart has cups of worms! Dan, you don’t have to kill the fish to go fishing. You can just catch and release! You did know that, right?
