creepy? definitely. wait, wait, not you … the cop. just a wee bit of a control issue, but anyhow.

and that makes perfect sense to me. i have to be in a particular zone to really get into a scene, i can generally do that in a dark room with no lights but the lights emanating up from my keyboard … but then, i don’t have baby goats to worry about, either.

And…about that snow…want some of mine? lol. I’m happy for the snow…but even HAPPIER that on Tuesday – we’re gonna have 60 degree weather !! (and probably tornadoes lol)

A long time ago when I first graduated from the police academy I worked with an old sergeant on my very first night shift and he delighted in visit parking places and knocking on windows asking the girls if they were OK. On reflection that may have been a bit weird.

Glad you’re writing again, too, Dan.

I understand the whole location concept. In fact, I think I’ll start carrying a notebook (as some folks above mentioned). My thoughts often flow throughout the day but not later when I sit down at the computer and try to write.

I love this story, Dan! You probably shocked Officer Friendly that non-creepy people do exist. Keep writing!

I do need to be “on location” to write, also. Unfortunately, I write about my family, so an exotic locale for me would be the kids’ rooms instead of mine.

i think it is a wonderful idea… and part of the reason i bought a laptop this time around is so that if i ever get over my ridicules fear of leaving the house i can write outside,, on location as you put it… even if it is just in my own back yard…..

I think it makes perfect sense. I can’t even tell you how often I have pulled over and started writing because a certain location or road inspired me with just the right thought. It happeneed to me just today, but I couldn’t really stop biking in the middle of midday traffic, so I had to wait till I got home and the poem in my head had already half disintegrated by then. No, I think you’re very normal for wanting to write “on the set” of your book.

Makes total sense. ONE I applaud you, for just taking that initiative and trying something new. I always get my ideas or thoughts when I am driving, or in the shower. I carry notebooks everywhere.
No creeping out here, none what so ever.
