The ONLY appeal I can think of? Is that this man(who enjoys this ‘sport’) must enjoy the return favor, of a slap, a punch or even a knee to the groin….I can seem to come up with any other reason…

I’ve only been pinched once… and it was not appreciated. I was at a fair with my hubby (then fiance) and the guy was a customer at a place where I worked in my college days.

But what really makes me scratch my head is, where did the phrase “naked as a jaybird” come from? Aren’t all birds naked, really? And really, since birds are covered in feathers, they’re not really naked are they? So if I were naked as a jaybird, would I really not be naked at all?

On very rare occasion I’ve had some pervert bump up to me in an elevator or a crowded store and cop a feel of the ol’ bum. It has happened less and less over the years, though, which is a very good thing. But I’m not proud to admit that the last time it happened, underneath all that disgust and disturbance I did have a small thought of glad that my arse is appealing to someone, even at my ripe age.

The random ass pinching thing is way foreign to me. Once my mother went out to hear some music with me and as we worked through the crowd, she turned around and said in her very southern vote, “Sophie, a man just poked me in the crotch.” Yes, I had a very hot mom before the label was popular.

I don’t know that I’ve ever been pinched but I have been full on GRABBED. In my earlier days, a guy grabbed my ass and I turned around and demanded he give me five bucks. That shit ain’t free. The look on his face was priceless. Man was shocked. He obviously expected me to be grateful for the five finger discount he helped himself to.

I agree with t’other Dan. I think it might also have something to do with that “I’m gonna get ya!” kinda thing we learn as kids, when we chase each other around, tickling and poking. Or something. Sort of. Nevermind.

I think the bum pinching thing is more of a dominance thing than a sexual gratification thing. Invading personal space in a taboo area type thing.
