What does this mean to you?

“I needed to get home really fast in order to meet the delivery truck and I prayed that god would give me all green lights and instead he gave me all red lights.”
To all believers out there, do you sincerely, and I am truly being sincere, that god steps into every minute of your life…even the mundane moments like trying to beat traffic? How do you reconcile the fact that while god is granting you green lights, he is also making everyone else’s lights red?

the weirdest instance of things like this i have ever encountered was years ago, i had a pimp named tony, who sold crack as well as had girls… imagine that… and he would thank the lord for the money we gave him,, and when he moved a bunch of dope real easy, or made a good chunk of change… or got busted for something and got out of it somehow… it was all the lord that was doing these wonderful things for him… i asked him if he was just saying that, or if he really meant it and he was serious as a heart attack… wow….

Sounds like the Stone Age, when people dance in the rain so that the gods will give them good harvest or sacrifice their infants so that they could win the war.

When I first read the quote, I thought nothing of it, just words…a saying people use for emphasis. THen getting to your question…it took a different twist.
No I don’t believe that….and yet my belief system is so whacked out. I guess I look at it, as; It may not be what I hold close….and yet it works for others, and if that is what helps them get through, so be it. Yet I can use a ‘religion’ to justify ‘bad’ actions…
I truly feel people should own up to their own responsibilities. Take ownership for their actions. If their religion or beliefs led them down that path, okay but they still acted. THeir body made the motions…

I think that means that god didn’t think that person should be purchasing whatever was being delivered–he or she should definitely return it and ask god again later if it is a good time for that particular item.
I’m with Prudence.

I’ve never gotten this either. I mean, come on! *IF* there is a God, well I imagine he’d be super busy right? Traffic lights? Yeah not so much.

Yes – those comments annoy the hell out of me, too. I especially hate how all the sports players will thank God that they won, why would he be wasting his precious time on a baseball game when there are billions of other problems in the world?
