Foods I Can No Longer Eat
Posted by danleone on May 10th, 2007 filed in funny, parentingSince the birth of the Baby Goats, there are foods that I used to love that I no longer can get near:
- Cheerios
- Cheez-Its
- Goldfish
- Apple Juice
- Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwiches
- Those little trays of cheese and crackers with that red stick thing used to schmear the cheese.
After nearly 10 years of finding cheerios in the holes of the car seat, wiping peanut butter off my knuckles because I need to buy the giant 5 gallon drum of peanut butter and smelling Cheeze-It breath, I will never consider these food items.
Are there things that you used to eat that you can no longer stand (either using the kids as an excuse or not)?

My problem is things I can’t stand to see on TV anymore: polyester-suited kiddy characters of any variety. I just freak out these days. I can’t explain it, maybe having a 2-year old has something to do with that…

When I was a kid my mother worked a lot of evenings. I was responsible for fixing dinner for my younger sister and brother. As a result, I can no longer eat ravioli or fish sticks. I probably would have outgrown this by now anyway, but I was unable to eat them in college–when my definition of *food* was much broader.

Hmmm…I haven’t stopped eating foods, I will say I hated Cheerios as a kid and like them now…Not sure if it is more the guilt commercials(good for your heart) or just an acquired taste at this point. But(ofcourse there is a but, lol) I have a whole different view of some foods, as cheerios. They are no longer ‘food items’ but the tools of evil. Cheerios in toilet, a whole box of them mind you. Peanut butter on items they shouldn’t be, I have learned to stop asking why. “Why is there a box of cheerios in the toilet?” or “Why is there peanut butter…”
So I get ya here….I get ya.
